The London Symphony Chorus joins the LSO and soloists, Christiane Karg and
Anna Larsson, for Mahler’s epic ‘Resurrection’ Symphony.
The orchestra will be at full strength as Semyon Bychkov takes to the podium for one of Mahler’s most successful works, his Second Symphony. The work requires ‘the largest possible contingent of strings’, expanded brass, percussion, woodwind, organ and chorus.
The symphony is an uplifting battle to overcome death, from the anguished first movement to the lush and passionate finale.
